Abstract In machining, high mechanical and thermal loads are exerted on a small area of the tool where it interacts with workpiece. Despite limited interaction space, extensive use cutting fluids (CFs) is inefficiently used to improve machining process increase productivity. order minimize CFs’ negative impact health, environment financial burden, various strategies have been developed studied optimize their including minimum quantity lubrication. this research, initial period chip formation (IPCF), that occurs during narrow window space time at beginning cut, closely investigated in an orthogonal setup. During IPCF, low were observed. The existence IPCF further under interrupted prescribed intervals sustain its positive effects. addition, 2D numerical friction model proposed. comprises criterion dependent temperature observed be associated transient regime.
